This Valentine’s Day there are plenty of things to eat, see and do in Plymouth’s Sutton Harbour and The Barbican. Whether it’s a sumptuous meal by the harbour, a spot of speed dating or gift-giving—it’s sure to be special.

Dinner dates
Paint the town red with HonkyTonk Wine Library who is hosting a Sip and Paint night. Bring either loved ones or friends along. You’ll be given a canvas and all the paint you could need to create your masterpiece. Plus, each couple will get half a bottle of wine and an artisan two-cheese board. The price is £50 for two people and of course, you can keep whatever you create. The event begins at 6:30pm and tickets can be booked here.
If you’re looking for a more traditional date night, Miller & Carter has a Valentines menu running from the 12th to the 17th February. It will be love at first bite with three courses for £32.95 plus the option to upgrade with a bottle of champagne. Located at the edge of Sutton Harbour with views looking across the marina it makes for the perfect romantic setting.
Perhaps you’re headed for a night out on The Barbican complete with dinner at Suphas, The Stable or Rockfish. Afterwards, there are plenty of places to enjoy some drinks by the harbour at pubs like The Ship and The Three Crowns.
Are you celebrating the day by taking a romantic walk along the gorgeous Plymouth seafront? Grab a coffee from Alfresco and refuel yourselves with delicious, cultural cuisine from The Greek or Barbican Bao.
Magical moments
Head to the National Marine Aquarium for a night you’ll never forget as you dine and relax in front of the huge exhibits. On the 14th, 15th and 16th February share a three-course meal, wine, and welcome drink with your partner. There is sure to be no other dining experience quite like it.
If you’re looking for something for the whole family, there’s a Valentine’s Day party at The Box. This fun event will see a disco, face painting and craft making. There will also be a delicious menu to choose something from.
For something a little more traditional, Sutton Harbour and The Barbican make for a romantic destination. Whether it’s a sunset stroll by the sea with stops for ice cream or a scenic cruise on the water with Plymouth Boat Trips.
