Located on Sutton Harbour’s north eastern quay, the Harbour Arch Quay development, by Sutton Harbour Group, offers 12 exceptional two and three-bedroom apartments in addition to two luxurious penthouses.

Such is success of the development that both penthouses and eight of the apartments have already been sold off-plan to buyers eager to secure their dream home in what is a prime waterside position in Britain’s Ocean City.

With the main structure of the building now complete and internal fit out and external finishes well under way, the topping out at ninth floor roof level celebrated in traditional fashion the scheme reaching the high point in its construction.

Philip Beinhaker, Executive Chairman, and fellow directors of Sutton Harbour Group were joined for the event by Cllr Mark Shayer, Plymouth City Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Economy; Nick Buckland, Chair of Plymouth Waterfront Partnership; members of the project team and guests.

Harbour Arch Quay is being developed by Sutton Harbour Group and has been designed by Plymouth-based ADG Architecture Design Graphics, Airey & Coles structural engineers, and Hoare Lea MEP engineers. It is being built by Moor Manage construction managers with a team of construction contractors spanning the various building trades.

The development will be a striking new addition to the Sutton Harbour waterfront, offering spectacular views over the marina and Plymouth Sound. In addition to its new homes, Harbour Arch Quay will feature at ground floor level a lobby entrance and space for a commercial/office unit, as well as significant public realm improvements outside to enhance the harbourside setting.

Philip Beinhaker, Executive Chairman of Sutton Harbour Group, said: “We are very pleased and proud to be celebrating this major milestone for Harbour Arch Quay and this further material step in the regeneration of the east side of Plymouth’s historic harbourfront.

“We set out to deliver a scheme of high quality and which would be a fitting addition to the city’s magnificent waterfront. It is great to see the building taking shape and to be able to report the hugely positive way in which Harbour Arch Quay has been received, evidenced by the levels of interest from buyers.”

Councillor Mark Shayer, Deputy Leader of Plymouth City Council, said: “The Harbour Arch Quay development will bring a fantastic new residential option to the waterfront. I’m not surprised that so many properties have already been snapped up – it is already beginning to look the part.

“I look forward to the works finishing and seeing more people able to call our beautiful waterfront their home.”

Nick Buckland, Chair of Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, said: I was delighted to attend the topping out celebration with the Sutton Harbour team and partners.

“Sutton Harbour are an important stakeholder and partner in the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership and we work closely with them in ensuring that we are both aligned in our joint objective that helps to increase the footfall, waterfront living and commercial success of our iconic, world class waterfront.”

Harbour Arch Quay represents a material first step in the reinvigoration and enhancement of the east side of the harbour. Further development will follow with the Sugar Quay complex, a £60million, 21-storey landmark building on the eastern side of the harbour, which will offer 170 apartments, restaurants, and shops, and was unanimously approved backed by Plymouth City Council’s Planning Committee in 2022.

It will transform this part of the city’s waterfront and make it more accessible and welcoming for residents of Plymouth, visitors, and tourists, along with the enhanced integration of the residential communities to the east and Plymouth city centre.

Harbour Arch Quay occupies space between Pinnacle Quay, home to apartments and the popular HonkyTonk Wine Library and Daisy’s Tea Rooms on the ground floor, and Salt Quay House, which is the headquarters for leading South West professional services firms such as Foot Anstey and Bishop Fleming.

Apartments will be appointed to the highest specifications and will feature floor to ceiling windows, open plan living spaces and large private terraces, along with the spectacular views over the marina and beyond.

Contemporary design is being enhanced with the use of high-quality materials and finishes on the build to add to the distinctiveness of Sutton Harbour’s waterfront and complementing neighbouring buildings.
