Christmas is about spending time with loved ones and for tucking into some delicious festive food! Luckily, at Plymouth’s Sutton Harbour, we have a whole host of restaurants, cafés, and coffee shops to choose from. With plenty offering Christmas menus, great deals, vouchers and more – it’s time to start the countdown.
You can simply have a wonderful Christmas time with this 12 day countdown of festive treats to enjoy.
Day 12: Rockfish
Sitting between the National Marine Aquarium and the footbridge to The Barbican, Rockfish is renowned for its fresh, seafood menu. This Christmas, you can enjoy three succulent courses for £20. If you’re a group of 12 or more, you can also book to dine exclusively from their Christmas party menu. Produce is caught fresh in the morning and you can enjoy a great view out towards Plymouth Sound.
Day 11: HonkyTonk Wine Library
The HonkyTonk Wine Library is offering a Christmas menu with a choice of starters, sharing boards and desserts this December. Plus, it will be business as usual with a great wine selection to sample and enjoy. They’re also hosting wreath-making workshops and a Soulful Christmas Party to get you into the festive spirit. Plus, if you’re looking for the perfect present for the wine lover in your life, they offer gift vouchers.
Day 10: Daisy’s Tea Rooms
A warm welcome is always guaranteed at Daisy’s! With festive decorations aplenty, their Christmas menu is now available to book. If you like to keep it traditional, then a classic Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings is on offer. They also offer a festive afternoon tea with a twist as well as festive sandwiches and paninis. Plus, they’re going to be hosting a Christmas Dinner Evening event. Day 9: Miller & Carter
If you’re really looking to indulge this festive season, then Miller & Carter is the place for you. With five festive menus—you’ll be spoilt for choice depending on when you visit. If you’re happy to relinquish control and let someone else be in charge of the cooking this year, they’re also open on Christmas Day. Know somebody who is made about steak? They even have a gift range fit for any budding chef as well as gift vouchers.
Day 8: Supha’s Street Food Emporium
Supha’s is a firm favourite all year round to Sutton Harbour residents and visitors alike. In the summer, it boasts great views of the harbour and the setting sun. In the winter, you can still enjoy that great view but from the warmth of the inside! Their menu is also stacked with plenty of winter warmers to warm you through. Give the gift of Supha’s or treat yourself to a gift voucher this Christmas.
Day 7: The Ship
The Ship has a family-friendly atmosphere and a great view of the Barbican and Guy’s Quay. Whether you’re out for a bite to eat from their festive menu or for a couple of drinks, this pleasant pub is sure to fit the bill. They’re also going to be hosting Christmas events for adults and for the whole family to make some cherished memories. There’s always a buzz of people around, making for a lively atmosphere, perfect for celebrating the festive season.
Day 6: The Stable
Believe it or not, pizza and Christmas dinner have something in common. They’re both perfect for leftovers the next day! Tuck into their usual menu, or for a party or big family gathering, book ahead and choose from some festive menu favourites. It’s Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, except the trimmings are your toppings. Enjoy great views of the harbour in The Stable’s cosy atmosphere this Christmas.
Day 5: The Harbour
There’s nothing wrong with a bit of seafood on your festive menu when you’re local to Plymouth! The Harbour is a firm favourite of locals and visitors to Sutton Harbour and The Barbican. Wrap up warm, grab some chips to go and take in the sights with a walk along the harbour. Alternatively, dine in the restaurant and go classic with some turkey or opt for some crispy calamari and a monkfish curry with their exciting Christmas menu.
Day 4: Armado Lounge
Have you dined with Sutton Harbour’s newest residents yet? If not, now is the perfect time. The lounge is offering a Christmas menu right up until Christmas Eve. Their varied menu is perfect for everyone, offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. Enjoy a few drinks with your meal and get into the Christmas spirit while you watch the boats bob in the harbour. This venue is also dog friendly so you really can bring the whole family. There may even be a treat involved for your furry friend too…
Day 3: Cornish Bakery
Just next door to the Armado Lounge, you’ll find our other newest resident, The Cornish Bakery. They’re the perfect pit stop to your Christmas shop. With cakes, pastries, coffees and more on offer, take it with you for a stroll around the harbour or stay inside the cosy café. Sweet treats are a must around this time of year, so why not treat yourself?
Day 2: National Marine Aquarium
Dine with a difference this year at the National Marine Aquarium which is offering a festive dining experience in the company of its biggest exhibits. With a welcome drink, a three-course meal and entertainment—you’ll certainly feel as though you’re dining in luxury. This experience is perfect for a work Christmas party or a big family gathering. You’ve never had a dining experience like this one before!
Day 1: Plymouth Gin Distillery
If you’re a gin lover or you’re looking for the perfect gift for a gin lover—head to Plymouth’s Gin Distillery on Southside Street. Relax and enjoy a drink or two in their Refectory Bar as you count down to the big day. You can purchase a variety of gins from their shop to either enjoy over the festive period or gift to the gin lover in your life. Even better, they have a range of gifts and accessories, and you can even gift a tour of their facilities.
There are plenty of great festive things to do in Sutton Harbour and the neighbouring Barbican at this time of year. Why not make a day of it and attend any of the great events happening? The Christmas Reindeer Trail will keep the kids busy, the Santa Fun Run is sure to be a sight to see, you can take to the water with Plymouth Boat Trips for the kid’s Santa Christmas Disco or check out Fairytales, Fables & Other Assorted Nonsense at the Barbican Theatre.
