With spring well underway and summer just around the corner, Sutton Harbour’s restaurants are ready to welcome you with fresh new menus. There is something for everyone, no matter what time of day – whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, or dinner or even a light snack, Sutton Harbour has got it covered. If you’re local to Plymouth, be sure to pop by on your next sunny walk along the harbour. If you’re visiting, then consider this a handy guide to trying somewhere new.
Armado Lounge
The latest exciting new addition to the Barbican waterfront is the Armado Lounge situated in the old glass blowing house. This informal café and bar will be open all day, every day with fantastic views out towards Sutton Harbour. Whether you’re a bruncher, a late luncher or looking for dinner and drinks, it provides the perfect setting.
You may already be familiar with the Armado’s sister lounge, Seco, at Royal William Yard. The Armado’s menu is packed with all the classics, and they also offer gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and children’s menus.
Plus, on a scorching hot day, cool drinks can be made fresh at the bar! Check out the menu here.
Rockfish
Another of the popular Sutton Harbour menus can be found at Rockfish who have recently introduced a real steal – ‘Takeaway Tuesdays’ for their diners. Get a portion of fish and chips for only £5 on every third Tuesday of the month. The perfect dinnertime treat when the evenings are lighter, and you don’t feel like cooking.
Not to mention they have recently introduced three tasty choices of fresh fish to their restaurant menu. Line caught haddock, prime Brixham hake and delicious Bay Whiting are all caught fresh each day. Cooked using their own Rockfish batter recipe (regular or gluten free), they are all served with a tantalising tartare sauce.
Don’t forget – children eat free all spring and summer long! Check out their full menu here.
HonkyTonk
It’s all new over at HonkyTonk Wine Library. Last month, they launched a brand-new menu with new wines and even some brand-new events. One thing that hasn’t changed is the great atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to relax on a summer afternoon well into the evening.
Their new opening times for summer are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 11pm and on Sunday, you can catch them from 9am until 6pm.
Indulge yourself in their new menu which still features the classic sharing platters for two to four people. You can also try their new wine offerings which feature an orange wine and a light, fruity merlot. Perfect for spring and summer, head down to sample the new food and drink menus.
Boston Tea Party
Boston Tea Party also launched a spring menu in March—have you tried it yet? From delicious shakshuka to breakfast muffins, spicy quesadillas and French toast, there’s plenty to choose from. Rumour has it that their popular Banoffee Pancake stack has also made a reappearance…
Plus, they cater for gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian diets, with plenty for the young ones as well. It’s a sure-fire dine-out winner for families and friends with something for everyone. Plus, you get to take in the beautiful views of Guy’s Quay on Sutton Harbour as you sit outside in the sunshine.
The Stable
You say The Stable, we say delicious sourdough pizza and cider. For spring, they have launched two tasty new pizzas to try.
Pesto La Pizza, Baby is a crispy sourdough base with pesto chicken, roasted artichokes, punchy rocket, and a lemon to finish for the ultimate freshness. Shredd-y or not is topped with slow cooked beef and pepperoni with a smoky barbecue base. Perfect for that summertime BBQ fix!
If you’ve sworn off the dough for a little while, they also have a new Miso chicken noodle salad, and their Green Light Mac n Cheese is back.
Get a front row seat to Sutton Harbour out on the balcony while you tuck in for spring. Check out the new menu here.
Miller and Carter
Can’t get enough of Miller and Carter? Sitting on the eastern side of Sutton Harbour, grab yourself a seat by the sea. They’ve just launched their new seasonal flavours menu to carry you into summer. Fancy a clue? It’s SEAsonal, alright. Oak-smoked salmon and prime sea bass fillets abound with fresh vegetables and tangy sauces.
They’ve even introduced a brand-new dessert to round off the new menu. Miller’s Mango Bomb is a white chocolate smash bomb with mango sorbet, vanilla mousse, and a tart raspberry compote. Get ready to be refreshed and find the new menu here.
The Ship
The Ship is a restaurant and bar that sits on the edge of Guy’s Quay. You can expect all the pub classics, but you can also expect to find something new on their summer menu.
You can’t miss the Yorkshire Pudding Burritos which is a fun twist on the classic roast dinner. Beef, chicken, cauliflower cheese or root vegetable – there are plenty of options. If you’re more of a seafood fanatic, expect freshly caught grilled mackerel and the classic fish and chips with Newlyn and Brixham hake.
For something a bit spicier, there are sharing flatbreads with curried cauliflower or roasted red pepper pasta and miso and chilli-glazed aubergine. Heat up your dinner for the hot summer evenings and find the new menu here.
