Sutton Harbour Group has launched a new, combined website to better showcase Plymouth’s historic waterfront and leading marina. The site will enable visitors to find out more about the extraordinary environment of Sutton Harbour, where the city meets the sea, as well as Plymouth’s famous maritime heritage, world-leading visitor attractions and outdoor activities for families to enjoy around the waterfront. The site is also the new online home for the award-winning Sutton Harbour Marina, based in the heart of Britain’s Ocean City.

The website launch comes as the harbour reawakens as one of the top destinations in the South West, offering a premier lifestyle experience for those looking to visit, live or work within the historic harbour. Visitors to can find out more about things to do along the waterfront and throughout the wider city, from exploring the adjacent Plymouth Hoe to shopping at the Drake Circus Shopping Centre, just a short walk away. 

The new website highlights Sutton Harbour’s unbeatable location in the heart of the city and its unique environment, providing the perfect destination for anyone looking to enjoy Plymouth’s historic waterfront. 

Visitors can learn more about Sutton Harbour’s fascinating maritime heritage and take a walk through history on the one-mile Harbour Heritage Trail, stopping at key spots such as the Mayflower Steps Memorial, located at the entrance of the harbour. 

The harbour regularly hosts some of the city’s leading events, which are set to increase in the future with the installation of new floating event pontoons to the harbour, and is also home to a year-round array of popular food and drink retailers with harbourside cafes, restaurants and bars to visit.

Britain's Ocean City selected to host SailGP in Season 2

Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, has been selected to host SailGP’s Season 2 European debut when the global league’s events restart in 2021. Following the season opener in San Francisco in April and New York SailGP in June, the championship will return to UK shores July 17-18 for the third event in Season 2, featuring the world’s fastest sail racing.
