Marine Events 2024 – 9 Big Dates for Your Diary 

The 2024 sailing calendar is fast filling up with events and there are so many to choose from. Each event provides its own unique experience along with the chance to connect with the wider maritime community.
 
Here we highlight some of the events taking place along the South Coast. Oh, and we’ve thrown one inland event in for good measure.
 
The Southampton International Boat Show is a pinnacle event in the UK’s marine calendar. This extensive showcase features everything from small kayaks to majestic super yachts. The event offers interactive experiences, live entertainment, and activities for all ages. It is the perfect event for both marine professionals and enthusiasts
 
Immerse yourself in the world of classic yachting at the Classic Channel Regatta. The event combines competitive sailing with social gatherings. The Dartmouth to Paimpol race is the highlight of the regatta followed by events in Brittany. 
 
The Royal Southern Yacht Club’s sailing calendar includes dinghy, match, and fleet racing. Their Summer Series and events like ‘YachtFest’ combine competitive sailing with social get-togethers.
 
Experience community spirit at Saltash Regatta, one of Cornwall’s most prominent waterside events. It offers a weekend of exciting sailing competitions, onshore festivities, and entertainment.
5. Plymouth Regatta (12 – 14 July)
 
Organised by the Port of Plymouth Sailing Association, it is one of the world’s oldest regattas. The event features races for various classes and is one of the highlights of the season for competitive sailors.
6. Fowey Royal Regatta (18 – 24 Aug)
 
Set in the picturesque town of Fowey, Cornwall, this regatta offers a week of yacht and dinghy races. Join in with the shore-side program which combines competitive sailing with maritime festivities.
7. BoatLife Live (15 – 18 Feb)
 
You’ll need to hop on land transport to get to this event. It’s a great event to visit even if you only spend a few hours looking at all the incredible gadgets on offer. Pay a visit to the NEC Birmingham, BoatLife Live to discover the the latest in boating trends. It’s ideal if you’re keen to explore new boating technologies, designs, and services.
8. British Classic Week (15 – 20 July)
 
Dedicated to classic yacht enthusiasts, this event includes a week of racing and socialising. Celebrating the elegance and tradition of classic yachting.
9. Poole Regatta (25 – 27 May)
