Easter sailing destinations from Plymouth

Spring has sprung and before we know it Easter will be here, which will hopefully mean some great sailing weather. We thought we’d put together the best Easter sailing destinations from Plymouth to give you some inspiration for our first bank holiday weekend of the year!

Salcombe

This beautiful coastal town sits on the banks of Kingsbridge Estuary making it one of the prettiest towns in South Devon. It is located in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With its spectacular coastal views and rolling surrounding countryside it is a gem for sailing, a great place to visit for a day sail and spend time falling in love with a wonderful coastal town.

Fowey

This natural harbour is nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the sheltered deep-water of Fowey Harbour is a haven for all types of boats. Its picturesque town centre has a variety of shops and eateries to enjoy, all set amongst lots of historic buildings. There is a strong Celtic connection, maritime history and literary involvement with Daphne Du Maurier. This makes for a lovely sailing trip from Plymouth, exploring the steep-sided tree lined valley of the Fowey Estuary.

Dartmouth

This beautiful town is situated on the banks of the picturesque River Dart, with its charming historic streets, scenic river location surrounded by South Devon countryside. The stunning landscape, the historical buildings and the exceptional local produce all make this a fantastic sailing destination on the Devon coast.

Looe

This picturesque fishing harbour is situated in South East Cornwall and is famous for their day-caught fish and wide sandy beach. Looe has a rich history with the famous Looe Bridge that joins the East and the West towns, surrounded by beautiful woodland and cobbled streets lined with independent boutiques and delicious restaurants. Looe really is a stunning fishing port within easy sailing distance of Plymouth.
