Activities to enjoy during the school holidays
Breaking up for the school holidays is very exciting for the younger ones, but figuring out and planning what to do to keep kids entertained for weeks on end can be tough for the parents or guardians in charge.

The Sutton Harbour Heritage Trail
The Harbour Heritage Trail is a free, interactive one-mile circular route walk around Plymouth’s historic harbour. We know children can find walks boring but with the option of making this walk interactive on the Plymouth Trails app (Apple store and Google Play Store) it can create a fun, educational and engaging walk for the family on what could be a beautiful sunny day around Sutton Harbour. The Sea-ster Egg Trail
The Sea-ster Egg Trail is an EGGCELLENT free event taking place from the 11th-18th April around Sutton Harbour and The Barbican. You could win a family ticket to the National Marine Aquarium if you are lucky enough to find the rogue egg that is on your hunt. You can download the trail from the Barbican Waterfront website a day before the trail starts or pick up a trail leaflet from The Tourist Information Centre. What a great way to get into the Easter spirit – and again, it doesn’t cost a thing.
The National Marine Aquarium
The National Marine Aquarium, located at the entrance to Sutton Harbour, is the largest aquarium in the UK. With over 4,000 sea animals to see and family-friendly activities on offer, this is a brilliant attraction for you and the kids to experience this April. Tickets can be bought online at their standard ticket price type which also includes a Complimentary Pass to revisit for 12 months after, so you get great value for money from your visit.
Easter Family Fun Workshops: Creative Workshops
Art and craft events are a great way for kids to use up some of their excess energy and have fun creating something that they can keep. This is a free workshop located at The Box with the themes being animal puppets (12th-16th) and sculptures (18th-23rd). Boston Tea Party is in a wonderful location on Sutton Harbour overlooking the marina with plenty of space indoors and a sunny terrace if the weather is kind, and perfect for a spot of breakfast or brunch before you start your day. Boston Tea Party operate on a first come, first served basis and even better, they are dog-friendly, which is ideal for people who want to walk off their delicious food around the scenic marina with the pup in tow.
Supha’s Street Food Emporium
Supha’s is an outstanding and affordable Asian influenced street-food style restaurant and takeaway that looks out over the beautiful eastern side of Sutton Harbour. They offer authentic dishes from Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam with seafood provided by Sutton Harbour’s Moby Nicks, which is based at the neighbouring Plymouth Fisheries. The perfect place to visit if you are looking to experiment with exciting pan Asian cuisine and teach the kids some new flavours this Easter.
Rockfish
Rockfish is a perfect destination for a family meal as it provides you with the ultimate seafood experience from relaxed and welcoming surroundings.
