17th Century Spanish Galleon visiting Plymouth

A full-size replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon ship will be visiting Plymouth this summer and will be open to visitors to come aboard. Named the El Galeón, the ship is going to be moored in the Cattewater. Visitors will be able to take a self-guided walking tour of the ship which has been fashioned as a museum with interactive exhibits, videos and historical documents.

El Galeón is expected to arrive in mid-September after it was originally meant to arrive in August but was postponed due to bad weather. Access to the ship will be via a dedicated tender operating regular crossings from the Barbican Landing Stage each day.
